Ben steps off the boat and walks onto the shore of the first of 5 islands. He has heard about this archipelago through word from some people who had went there recently, but heard a lot more from the woman in charge of transportation to the islands. She informed him of the 5 islands and the unique qualities of each, but also asked him to watch out. She said that the odds of him being harmed would be lessened if he stayed off the 5th island, but that there was more than injuries to watch for. Still, the islands intrigued Ben, so the woman granted him access.

Ben looks around at the town he arrives at on the first island, the Island of Peace. The town is pretty much the picture of a resort town, with many hotels and most restaurants and conveniences near the hotels. Though, there was also the normal neighbourhoods next to the hotel sections, giving off a normal town vibe as well. Everyone here seemed happy and normal in this town, making it seem like everything will be fine here. Ben was told that the Island of Peace got it's name from having perfect conditions at all time, but the people also make the name seem right.

Soon Ben spots the woman who he was told by the transportation controller to find. The woman is identifiable by her black hair and red streaks, but when he gets closer, he notices a strange mark on her arm, resembling a snake somewhat. The woman notices him soon enough. "Oh, hello there. I'm guessing you're a tourist here. I was told you would be here soon," she says to Ben.

"Well, it's nice to meet you. I'm Ben," Ben says, extending a hand out to shake.

"Hello then Ben. My name's Dorothy," the woman says, shaking Ben's hand. "Now, should we head to the hotel now, or do you want to look around first?"

"Well, I would like to see more of this town," Ben responds, wanting to get used to the place he would be staying in for most of his trip.

"Alright then. I'll lead you around then," Dorothy says before starting the tour, showing the shopping districts, the entertainment sectors, etc. Pretty much anything of interest is shown to Ben, but Dorothy makes sure to state one fact whenever it becomes relevant: that Ben should stay inside city limits if he's alone. Ben asks why, but Dorothy just states that leaving would leave him open to the magic of the islands, and anything could happen after that.

Later on Dorothy drops Ben off at his hotel, telling him to stand at the front of the hotel in the morning so they can head off to see more of the islands. Before she leaves though, she asks Ben one last question. "Oh yeah, were you told about some of the creatures you might see here?"

"No, not really. The woman in charge of transportation said there was strange creatures here, ones I wouldn't expect and may need to watch out for, but never anything specific about what they are," Ben answers, wondering why Dorothy would ask that.

"Well, then you're in for a real surprise tomorrow. Let's just say that what you believe is fake will turn out to be real on these islands," Dorothy says, seeming excited to show Ben something, but she leaves without saying more, making Ben curious about what she could be referring to. He couldn't get anything else out of Dorothy though, so he just heads back into his hotel room and prepared for the night. Though, just before he goes to sleep, Ben notices through his window something moving around in the sky above the area outside of town. Now, normally something flying at night wouldn't be that strange, but this creature was much larger than the normal bat or bird. The shape of the body didn't even match up, as it appeared to be more reminiscent of a dragon than anything. The creature flew away before he could figure out what it is exactly, but that only made Ben more curious about what it was and if this is what Dorothy meant.

The next morning Ben rushes to meet up with Dorothy, wanting to ask her about what he saw the night before. Dorothy is fortunately on time, so Ben doesn't have to wait any longer to find out about the strange creature. After both greet each other with good mornings, Ben finally gets his question out.

"So, you saw one of the many sights of these islands. Not sure what exactly you saw, but here, you can find many new animals here. You may find living dragons here, centaurs and other human-like creatures, and even animals from modern media. I think what brings a lot of people to explore is the Pokemon you can find in these parts actually," Dorothy answers, happy to see Ben enthusiastic and curious about the wonders of the islands. There was more than just the new creatures of course, but she'd rather not overwhelm the new guest.

"Really?! Well, that's cool, but... It also sounds dangerous. Do the wild creatures attack people?" Ben asks. He likes the idea of meeting mythical creatures, especially if they are Pokemon he likes, but there does seem to be risk.

"Don't worry. The wild creatures hardly ever attack unless provoke. Many are smarter than normal animals. Though, you still have to be careful if you leave town. The animals may not attack, but you were probably told that there are other problems that could happen," Dorothy responds, not wanting to scare Ben with the reality of the islands.

"Well, that's a relief. So, you wanted to show me these creatures today?" Ben asks, calming down. With the threat of pain gone, he is able to regain his excitement over what he may find.

"Yep. I figured we'll stay on this island for today. There's enough creatures here to fill a day," Dorothy says, soon leading Ben to the edge of town. They walk into a forest, and immediately Ben spots mythical creatures. Some fairies fly around his head, trying to get to their destination nearby, a berry bush to gather food. Some baby kirins ran across the ground, surprising Ben as he's never seen a fish/goat/bull hybrid before. Many more mythical creatures are seen over the next hour, yet there hasn't been any Pokemon yet, which kinda disappointed Ben.

Dorothy notices this. "Don't worry. We'll find a Pokemon soon enough. Though it is strange that no Pokemon has appeared. Usually I see at least one in the first hour," Dorothy says to Ben. "We might want to change location then. Let's head a bit further in."

They walk deeper into the forest then, stopping after the trip further in proved futile as well. There just doesn't seem to be any Pokemon around. "I'm sorry Ben. Maybe we'll find some Pokemon on one of the different islands," Dorothy says, feeling sad that they couldn't even find just one Pokemon.

"It's alright," Ben says, a little sad, but trying to not bother Dorothy about it. They start to head back, but as they start off, Ben hears the voice of a female human. The girl sounds like she was crying.

"There's a girl in trouble nearby. We should help!" Ben says, as he starts to run towards the sound, taking turns in his attempt to find the source, ignoring the fact that Dorothy is shouting at him to stop. Dorothy tries to follow, though it seems like she couldn't hear the crying, as if it is only being broadcasted to Ben...

Soon enough Ben finds the source of the crying, a teenager lying on the ground who seems to have sprained her ankle, as her ankle did seem swollen as he got closer. Ben rushes to help her, making sure to be careful of her ankle. He couldn't do much to help, but he was able to at least get the girl in a sitting up position.

"Thank you. I was afraid no one would hear me, as usually the people who live here don't go this far into the forest," the girl says, still seeming to be in pain, but she's at least happy to be sitting.

"Yeah. Well, I was just out on a tour of the wildlife here. Good thing I was," Ben says, glad he was able to even just a bit.

"Oh, so you're a tourist here. Just trying to see the animals? Anything particular you're looking for?" the girl asks, seeming pretty interested in what Ben might answer.

"Well, I was told there was Pokemon here, but I haven't seen any. What about you?" Ben asks, wondering why the girl would be out here if the normal citizens don't wander out this far.

"I came in order to find some magic, as it is something I've dreamed of finding. Though, I do know a way for you to see some Pokemon. You helped me out, so I might as well help you back," the girl responds.

"Really? That would be great. Though, we should probably get you back to town first," Ben says, preparing to help the girl up and bring her to Dorothy, who he's surprised isn't with him. How could she miss the sound of someone crying with how loud the forest echoed the sound.

"No, I can show you quickly. Then we can go. I don't want you to miss out on this opportunity," the girl responds, wanting to make sure Ben stays to see the Pokemon.

"Well, if you're sure about this. Where is the Pokemon then?" Ben asks, wondering why it is so important to the girl.

The girl smiles, and waves her hand. "Just stay still for a bit, and I can make a Pokemon appear," she tells Ben, continuing to wave her hand a bit.

Ben is confused about the waving hands, but soon he starts to feel a bit bloated. He looks down at himself, and notices that his belly is actually starting to grow outwards with the bloaty feeling. He's weirded out, but only start to panic when he sees his belly stretch out of his shirt, revealing the pink skin and the 3 yellow curved lines.

"What's going on... are you doing this?!" Ben asks, the bloating feeling stopping as his torso stops at a pretty round shape, ripping his shirt to pieces, revealing a white bib-like pattern around his neck.

"I needed someone to test out the magic powers I found through my travels, and you were the first person to come. I couldn't resist," she says, laughing at the sight of the rest of Ben turning pink.

Ben tries to leave, hoping that creating distance would weaken the spell, but he falls forward when he tries. His legs are the next to change, becoming much shorter and rounder. His feet shrinks into his legs, a single white nail left on each leg. Ben tries to get up to keep going, but the larger torso size makes it hard to get back up, added with his arms becoming round and short as well. His fingers fusing together, and a white nail replaces his thumbs, giving his hands a mitten look.

"Sorry, but with how new these powers are, I'd prefer a stationary target. I also couldn't risk you showing me to anyone, as they would recognize me, giving me away," the girl says, laughing at Ben's attempts to get up.

"Why are you doing this? I helped you after you were injured," Ben says, sad to be betrayed like this. He could feel his hair disappearing, a pink curl replacing it on his head.

"Yeah, about that injury..." the girl starts before getting onto her feet, the swelling magically disappearing. "A nice illusion huh? Learned about that when I visited the illusion island. A nifty spell to learn," she says, glad she could end that ruse. "Now, to end the change..."

Ben dreads the feeling of his head becoming wider and rounder, his ears and nose disappearing now. His eyes become smaller, becoming completely black. His mouth becomes wider, changing to always have visible dimples. The weirdest part is the fact that his tongue is growing wider and longer, soon sticking out of his mouth completely, though he could reel the tongue back in. He finally gets up to sitting position at this point. He tries talking more, to beg the girl to change him back, but ends up speaking in Pokespeak.

"There. Now you're a real Pokemon. Just look in a mirror or in water and you can see a Pokemon whenever you want," the girl says, happy with the result. She notices how miserable Ben is, as he couldn't really move in his body with how used to his old form he was. "Though, you did try to help, even though that was all a ruse, so I shouldn't leave you here helpless... I know, I can make you a Pokemon in mind as well."

Ben tries to beg again, not wanting to lose his mind, but the girl starts the spell casting anyways. Ben starts feeling a strange cloudy feeling in his head, making it hard to think straight. He tries holding on to his human thoughts, but they start slipping away. Ben starts remembering himself as a Pokemon, more specifically a Lickilicky. He forgets about being from off the islands, forgets about his friends and family, and forgets Dorothy, the one who's still looking for him. Soon he stops fighting, as there is nothing left of the normal him.

The girl smiles, feeling better about leaving Ben like this now. "Now, to head off before that pesky guide finds me," she says before turning to leave, leaving the now Lickilicky to wander around, trying to find his part of the forest.

Dorothy arrives in time to see the Lickilicky leave, not thinking much of it until she notices the shreds of clothing on the ground. She recognizes the clothes immediately. "Crap, another guest became a victim. I was prepared for a curse or a wild animal causing the change, but that crying he mentioned... I'll have to report that another magic seeker is near town. If only I could hear the fake crying, but she probably made it so only pure humans can hear it, so animals won't follow the sound and find her," she says, holding the snake mark on her arm as she says that last part. Defeated, she heads back to town. It isn't anything new, as almost every guide experiences this often. This is one of the many curses of the islands, and sometimes you couldn't avoid it, so guides had to learn to live with it.

:icondragonitemaniac:'s request. A pretty uncommon tf result, usually used for revenge or punishments. This story takes place on the 5 islands I created, specifically the Peace island. I am open to requests taking place at this setting, and am thinking of making a group for this islands soon. I'm just waiting for some people to say they'll join before I make it.

I had 3 specific goals in mind when writing this:

1: describe the port city on the Peace island

2: show one of the ways tfs happen in this setting. This is only an EXAMPLE of how it could happen. Not everyone will be changed like this. Sometimes it'll be illusions, sometimes the animals themselves, sometimes through non-magical means, and sometimes just a random curse created by the land.

3: showing that even the first island isn't safe from having tfs happen.

Lickilicky and Pokemon belong to Nintendo

The 5 islands and Dorothy belong to me

Ben belongs to :icondragonitemaniac:
